The Content Company was formed in 2008 as a source of bespoke media services to a range of clients from around the world.
With over 60 years of combined experience in covering African sports, multi-award winning journalist Mark Gleeson and Nick Said have grown the business into one of South Africa’s most successful independent sports content providers to over 100 varied clients in the last decade.
Key to this has been tracking the changes in the way customers consume their media and adapting our offering to suit the ever-changing publishing landscape, providing a fresh approach to ensure clients stay relevant.
MARK GLEESON
Mark is a world-renowned authority on African football having been honoured for his services to the sport by the Confederation of African Football.
Gleeson is the founding editor of the popular KICK OFF magazine and television commentator with SuperSport on top of being a correspondent for Thomson Reuters, World Soccer, BBC and several other outlets in Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland and the USA.
Gleeson has covered every African Nations Cup since 1992 and been to every World Cup since Mexico in 1986, except missing out on Italy in 1990.
NICK SAID
Nick became Sports Editor of iafrica.com early in his career and later took over as Operations Manager for 365 Digital Publishing, which included the hugely popular Football365.com, as well as sister sites covering rugby, cricket, formula one, golf, horse racing and tennis.
He joined KICK OFF as Managing Editor in 2004 and later took over the running of the magazine’s online properties, which included the formation of country-specific websites in Nigeria and Ghana.
At the same time he acted as Editor of KICK OFF’s custom publishing division, On Target, with clients that included FIFA, the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee, South African Football Association and the Premier Soccer League.
He has written for Thomson Reuters, ESPN, SuperSport, Tiso Blackstar Group and Forbes Africa.
